How We Give Back

The Great Adventure Lab offers at-cost LEGO® Robotics classes in low-income housing communities including PemBridge Square in Wheaton, Md.
What do your other after-school programs do for you? The Great Adventure Lab gives a percentage of collected tuition back to the PTAs who help us bring our program to their students.
Last winter, we ran heavily discounted LEGO® Robotics classes for children who live in Montgomery Housing Partnership low-income housing communities, including Greenwood Terrace in Takoma Park and Amherst Gardens PemBridge Square (at left) in Wheaton. This past summer, we taught classes in crime science and science for preschoolers at another MHP site, Great Hope Homes in Silver Spring.
Thanks to our customers’ generous support of our regularly priced classes, we were able to offer classes to MHP for less than $4 per child per class meeting. Some of the kids like our clubs so much, they skip out on basketball practice to let us teach them more about robotics! Eventually we hope to be able to offer these classes for free.
Here are the donations The Great Adventure Lab has made to PTAs as of winter 2011. We will be updating this list with spring donations soon. Really soon.
We’re happy to donate a robotics birthday party to a silent auction if your school runs The Great Adventure Lab programs. If not, invite us, and once we’re in, we’ll donate!
*not including $100.00 Hoops on the Terrace Sponsorship, spring 2011.
The Great Adventure Lab is proud to be part of your community!
