2017 STEM summer camps offer new classes and projects!
Camp GrAd Lab
Our science, robotics and engineering summer camps are so fun,
kids have no idea how much they’re learning!
NEW classes, new projects, beloved instructors.
Our science, robotics and engineering summer camp is so fun, kids have no idea how much they’re learning!
Did your children come last year and love it? Sign them up again since this summer we’ll be offering awesome NEW classes and projects!
Our youngest campers, rising grades K-1, will have their own Lego Building and Engineering classes where they will learn how to create simple-machines. In our Intro to Video Game Programming class, campers will create their own simple video game programs using Scratch on an iPads. We also have an all-new set of Invention Lab workshops where campers will experiment and tinker to their hearts’ content!
For our older campers (Grades 2-3 and grades 4-6), we have multiple levels of Lego Robotics (from the introductory level to Mindstorms) and Video Game Programming, plus 3-D Printing and Design to campers in grades 4-6. This summer we’ll be bringing back our Invention Lab where we will be using physics, engineering and electronics to create objects that glow, float and fly. In Out of This World Engineering and Electronics, we will be building hovercraft, rockets, CO2 powered cars and much more.
*Note on venue permits: All camps operating in Montgomery County public schools need county approval of chosen venues. Our venues have been APPROVED.
We offer two unique weeks of projects:
Curriculum A and Curriculum B. If you’d like to sign up for more than 1 week, be sure to choose one week A and one week B. They can be taken in any order. The classes are the same, but the projects are different!
Students who took either or both weeks of our STEM summer camps last year may take either or both weeks this year. In Lego Robotics, Video Game Programming and 3-D design, repeat students can move on to higher levels; the rest of our classes are new with all new projects.
How do we group campers? By age, interest and ability.
