pub-duo-show-scratch-okDoes your child dream of writing his or her own video games? Scratch is a great way to get started: Scratch is a programming language that makes it easy to create your own interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art — and share your creations on the web.

Join The Great Adventure Lab for this free, drop-in event at the Rockville (Town Center) Library on Saturday, May 18 from 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm for some hands-on Scratch fun.  Children of all ages are welcome with a parent.

We’ll provide netbooks and instructors to help you learn Scratch basics. We’ll also have several demo stations with projectors set up that will allow you to test out various Scratch games.  If you are an experienced Scratcher and have a project you’d like to share, bring your laptop and join us.

The beautiful Rockville Memorial Library is located at 21 Maryland Ave, in the Rockville Town Square.  The Rockville Town Square abounds with shops, restaurants and even an art gallery at Visarts.

This is a FREE drop in event and registration is not required, but we cannot exceed room capacity; if space is limited, those who register will be allowed into the room first. Pre-registration required.
